Donio fundraiser for the rainforest
Číst česky
Dear friends, we would like to let you know about our fundraiser to pay off a key piece of land that currently forms the border of life in the Amazon rainforest near the Ruku Samay community in the Río Blanco area. This land guards the way into the depths of the Amazon rainforest and, above all, the river and some of the most important and beautiful waterfalls in the area, home to anacondas and other large snakes. The river flowing through the land is the source of clean drinking water for the whole area. The fundraiser was started by Martin Kožíšek and Tomáš Veselý after their trip to Ecuador, where they had the chance to go on a three-day trek along the riverbed with Agustín Grefa. Before setting out, they saw the immense destruction caused by mining companies at the edge of the rainforest. The river is rich in gold, and gold mining destroys everything alive around it and leaves the soil dead and contaminated. After returning to the Czech Republic, they started this fundraiser, because the land still needs to be paid off to be fully protected by Život Postaru. Let's not be indifferent, and let's give future generations the chance to experience the wild and pristine nature of the Amazon too.
