How to help

HOW YOU CAN HELP

The greatest help you can give us right now is a financial donation. Your support is key to saving the area of the Ecuadorian Amazon that faces a serious threat from gold mining. Unfortunately, mining also brings severe mercury and cyanide pollution, which endangers not only the rainforest itself but also the forest school and kindergarten and the Rio Blanco community.

Every donation you send goes directly to supporting the activities of Život Postaru. Most of these funds currently go towards buying land that we protect from destruction by mining. All of the organisation's activities are carried out with tremendous commitment by our volunteers, who work without pay. Your support therefore goes straight to where it is needed most.

Thanks to you, we have already managed to preserve more than 127 hectares of rainforest.

Now, however, we face another key challenge – we have the opportunity to protect a 22.8-hectare area of rainforest. This land is of crucial importance thanks to its location by the waterfall and the entrance to the primary rainforest. The total amount needed to buy it is 127,000 dollars.

You can find more information about our other activities and plans on the page Project goals. Thank you for your support – together we can protect the Amazon rainforest for present and future generations.

We would also like to reach everyone who will be paying taxes in the Czech Republic at the end of the year and point out the possibility of using a donation agreement to reduce their tax liability.

Gift certificates

Every square metre of the Amazon rainforest is home to more than 2,000 species of plants and animals. These unique ecosystems deserve protection and the preservation of their natural environment.

We would like to offer you the chance to support this effort through our gift certificates. The certificate holder becomes a symbolic guardian of the area of rainforest stated on the certificate (from 25 m² to 200 m²). A certificate makes a lovely gift under the Christmas tree, for a birthday or for any other occasion.

We will send you the certificate:

• Online by e-mail, with the name you give us filled in.
• In print by post with the name written by hand (postage will be added to the price).

If this offer appeals to you and you would like a certificate for yourself or your loved ones, please contact us at info@zivotpostaru.cz. Please put in the subject of your e-mail:

• “Gift certificate – price – online – Czech Republic or Slovakia”, or
• “Gift certificate – price – by post – Czech Republic or Slovakia”.

Once we receive your e-mail, we will get in touch with further instructions about your gift.

The certificates are available in Czech and Slovak.

Thank you for your support! We greatly appreciate being able to protect the Amazon rainforest together with you while offering you an original way to delight your loved ones.

A talk in your town or school

We will be happy to give a talk or seminar in your town! Just gather enough people (10 or more) who are interested in these topics.

Tell your friends about the project!

You can help simply by sharing! We need to raise public awareness of the project, so don't hesitate to share it! Thank you 🙂

Volunteering in the rainforest

The trip is for those who want to help the local community and lend a hand. It is also a great opportunity to actively rest from the bustle of everyday life and “our” civilisation, and to experience the beauty of the Amazon up close.

Wayusa

A cup of the drink contains slightly less caffeine than a cup of coffee and twice as many antioxidants as green tea. Drinking wayusa regularly cleanses body and soul and brings a general zest for life. Indigenous people also traditionally use it to support reproductive health and value its aphrodisiac effects.
